Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The most effective way to upgrade your equipment in Path of Exile is through upgrade of your items. This allows you to upgrade your gear without having rely on expensive trades or drops. This article will show you how to upp your items efficiently.
Upgrading equipment grants an additional bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component's level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the parts that improve your armor and weapons more effective. They can be obtained by the destruction of enemies, finding them in spheres of items or purchasing them from karma sellers. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components, or by utilizing salvage kits of high-end quality, such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products, upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.
Upgrade components are mostly used to upgrade an item however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to boost the level or the amount of experience gained by upgrading equipment or weapons. They can also be made to offer additional benefits. A crafted glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target, and a boost upgrade increases the attack or defense attributes of the weapon.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will let you bind it to an item. This will display the list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a different experience multiplier, which affects the amount of experience an item gets when it is upgraded with the component. Organic components, like, have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you reach the multiplier of experience for the next level of the equipment or weapon, and then change to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier of experience, each item also has a maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades is determined by the rank that can be upgraded and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. For instance, the most expensive possible weapon upgrade is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most commonly used upgrades for weapons are the tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that share the same bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least once and the upgrade increases the amount of bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. Following upgrades, primary stats are increased even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats increases randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase its damage base, which could be crucial for certain builds. Weapons can't be upgraded for greater maximum defence rolls than their base. It is possible to increase the value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they may not always be superior to a high-level Runeword.

If you're upgrading an item that comes with an added bonus, the item can be rerolled a single time, and its guarantee will reset back to 0. The same amount of power dies are used to roll an item as it is used to increase its level. However, the new item has different bonuses. Upgrades can be completed through the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be purchased with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPCs will also offer special rewards for each completed stage of the upgrade process. item upgrader can be rerolled one time with the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
If the player has enough rerolling tokens, they can roll any item they have acquired during the game. When an item is rerolled it will be replaced by the same level in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased from the store for small amounts of in-game currency, but they cannot be refunded. The upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the first, but its stats will be different as well.
Players can change the identity of their equipment as well as rerolling it by interacting with a NPC upgrader. The equipment's identification will change from a weapon to an armor, or reverse it. The base requirements and stats remain the same. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the equipment.
Players can also increase the level of their item on any equipped device by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the NPC who upgrades the item. This will cost a certain amount of crests as well as Valorstones dependent on the upgrade track and item type. In the case of weapons, each step will add an additional five percent to the damage.
The upgrade of an item will make it more powerful however it can also lower its quality. It is therefore important to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all, while others will need to be upgraded to realize their potential. For example one player might wish to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor with an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to see what it can be.
Rerolling is a standard practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it to gain access to an item or character they cannot otherwise get. The process of obtaining these items can be costly and time-consuming and the RNG gods don't always want to play. The only choices left are to spend real cash or grind for a long time. Rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item, you can increase the level of the weapon or armor. But, this feature does absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe that this feature was intended to add some value to expensive and rare items. However, as most items are replaced quite quickly, and can only be upgraded by to a certain level, you will generally replace it before it becomes too old. It's also not worth upgrading items with gem sockets, as the power of the gemstone will outweigh any increase in the ilvl.
When you click the upgrade button on an item, you'll be presented with a small window displaying the item's upgrade template and the cost of crest and Valorstone to increase the item level. Armor and weapons will have different prices, with the latter generally being more expensive. The upgrade template shows the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and also lists its current base ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated by analyzing the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade templates reduction percentage for lvl. For example, an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8%.
In addition to the increase in ilvl base the item will also be upgraded in other stats such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and dodge, block and parry rating. Those increases are also built on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item is able to receive as it gets leveled up can be seen below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to practice equipment, all weapons and armor gain the same stats when they are leveled up. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can command an incredibly higher price than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other pieces of armor, such as circlets and tiaras.
