World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already own. This can be done through any upgrader for items NPC.
Generally, upgrades increase an item's main stats and provide extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs or Goldwraps for caster builds.
Armour
Armour is one of the main factors that keep Link protected from injury in most situations. While it cannot be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in various ways to improve its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to safeguard animals and people from harm or injury, whether it's from a direct physical attack or from a variety of activity or environmental hazards. Historically, armour was mostly made from fabric or leather but later, protections made of metal were also utilized for military purposes, particularly like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
As with weapons there are a variety of ways in which armour can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain provides a different degree of improvement, with higher levels of protection requiring more rupees and other materials.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place, they can't be removed in the event that you own a piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. It is essential to only apply the highest level of upgrades to your equipment and that you have the necessary materials to complete the process.
You will find the upgrades you require in a variety of locations throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants, and even enemies. They'll usually be identified with the gold circle or blue triangle symbol, and will be available in large quantities as you move through the game. They may appear randomly but there is a possibility that obtaining certain upgrades will trigger a quest that will reward you with more.
It's important to keep in mind that, even though the level that upgrades offer may differ but it will always be greater than zero. This is due to the fact that a full set of upgraded armor will grant you a high defense boost that will protect you from all forms of attacks, excluding magic which makes it a very effective tool for any class.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns by using special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. They can boost damage, change the weapon's stats to cater to your particular build, and even unlock new attachments like unique ammo types, enchantments and other options for aesthetics.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component available and the item. The weapon has to be at or near an appropriate level to upgrade it. Most weapons only be upgraded by one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world from the enemy or from merchants. Upgrade components are made up of components that you can put into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools to earn an attribute bonus. The equipment must be a certain level in order to accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mix of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to enhance the stats of weapons and enhance their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. They can be obtained from enemies who drop them in the open, bought from certain vendors or as drops in combat.
Two NPCs can enhance your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon as well as an upgrade.
Prioritize upgrading your best-in slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. Upgrade your weapon first, and then upgrade your chest, shoulders hands, feet, and hands when you are planning to play a melee build. Similar principles apply to Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some procs may be better than others, based on your style of play. Armour is the same, with certain refining better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade project is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for that item will not begin. Magic items that are upgraded cost double the gold they would normally cost to make or purchase however they may offer additional advantages.
A magical item is an item that has special properties or effects. These items are mostly weapons, but they can also be shields, armors, cloaks and potions. They can also be scrolls, rings or other items. Some of these items are telepathic.
Most magic items can be enhanced in their abilities. This can make them more useful to a player, or it could help them conquer any difficult situation. Infused weapons can offer bonus damage against a particular kind of enemy, for example. This is particularly useful for characters who have reached a level that they're likely to encounter a particular type of monster in dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant immunity to bludgeoning, piercing or slashing injuries from nonmagical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a long rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee martial characters or anyone looking to avoid buying a shield.
Certain items enchanted by magic have special powers that let the character cast spells in addition to the ones on the list of spells for their class. This is beneficial for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana) and the spell is determined by rolling a table that is based on the number of Intelligence points spent.
Other enchanted items might allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create an entirely new one. These items are especially useful for characters who have been forced to leave their home or are located in an area that they might not be accepted. A magical item may grant them invisibility or make them invisible to everyone except the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are any equipment that isn't part of the categories of Armor or Clothing and have a variety of capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor and Clothing, no utility item is able to be in conflict with another. Most utility items provide an effect that the player can activate by using them but some also have additional capabilities that are triggered when the user presses the button or activates a skill.
Generally, the most common kind of utility item is the Flashlight, which illuminates the surrounding area. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while they move, and the Jetpack, which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can quickly create a variety of useful items, while others are unlocked by research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
item upgrades can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded for greater effectiveness.
The majority of utilitarian items give players a navigational advantage or increase the effectiveness of a particular combat skill. For instance, sharpening stones crafted by the Weaponsmith increase Power and Ferocity and Maintenance Oils made by the Huntsman boost the concentration and healing power. Other utility items like Writs and Theses made by the Scribe, can be used to give the player an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one utility item at the beginning of the campaign. Later, an additional slot can be obtained by equipping certain types of armor or completing engineering, research or experiments in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows players to equip a Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is placed in the main slot for grenades.
